The Assam Index on Base (1982=100) is worked out by taking weighted average of the indices  for the five centres, the weights being 1. Guwahati 0.66 (23.49), 2. Doomdooma 0.57 (20.28),  0.44 (15.66), 4. Jorhat 0.51 (18.15) and 5. Rongapara 0.63 (22.42)3. Silchar

The Assam Index on new Base (2001=100) is worked out by taking weighted average of the indices  for the five centres, the weights being 1. Guwahati   (23.86), 2. Doomdooma(Tinsukia) (18.98), 3.Labac (Silchar)  (19.51), 4. Morioni(Jorhat) (18.70) and 5. Rongapara (Tezpur) (18.95). The indices on earlier base (1982=100) are obtained by multiplying the index numbers on new base(2001=100) by linking factors (L F) given below :: Guwahati = 4.80, Doomdooma = 4.04, Labac = 3.65, Morioni = 4.01, Rongapara = 4.17, All India = 4.63
